its autum in CPH

Its autumn now in Copenhagen. Naturally, temperature is getting colder... however, the weather here is a little crazy. at times its super cold, at times its not so cold.... i can't call it warm coz warm equals to more than 20 degrees... but here... the temp is like hovering around 10 - 17 degrees i think.

anyway, i'm here for close to 3 weeks already... so much has happened and i'm still trying to adapt to the lifestyle here....I've shifted to my current place.... i can't call it an apartment as the area does not equate to that.... i shall call it a room... and i've got a tiny kitchenette and toilet in my room.

hmmm... 1 good thing about this place is, its near to the train station and supermarkets and shops..... but the area is just too tiny. besides, the whole house is constructed in wood, so basically i can hear what my neighbours are doing. eg. like when he is draining the water in the sink, or walking around in his room, talking on the phone etc. u get the picture right? anyway these are the downsides of my current place. I'm still looking for a better apartment where the sounds do not travel. with larger area also means higher rent.... anyway i'm willing to pay a higher rent if i can get the better amenities. :)

This morning, i walked around the town, and i saw quite a few nice things. I must say, Lyngby is a pretty laid back town. Its nice to come here to rest and relax and walk in the parks.... but to lead a life here... its pretty boring... coz the shops close very early in the day... and don't expect supermarkets to be open on sundays... ( i think only 1 supermarket is open for a short duration). the roads are basically very quite on weekdays.... i've no idea where all the danes are on weekends... especially on sundays.

Last week, i had quite a bit of outings... haha...fri was the department's outing. we had lunch, canal cruise in Copenhagen city & bbq. hmmm... i must say its a great outing... and it will not be boring if u have friends or people to talk to. i must say its not easy to talk to a group of Danes. coz they will speak in danish even though there is a foreigner present. Hmmm seems like what i've read on some of the forum pages are correct. It tough being a foreigner... anyway... at times i had my italian colleague to talk to... and at times my german colleague to talk to... and at the bbq, i was talking to someone for quite a long time... apparently he is a prof! hahaha.... and we know of some pple in common.... so we talked quite a bit.... after the bbq, i rush to Solbjerg station to meet my friend, Lene. Coz we'll be heading to Svenstrupgaard, that's where the 1st SGI-Denmark Youth Kenshu will be taking place. Svenstrupgaard is like the last exit of Zeland island before u cross the bridge to the island of Fyn. It was a long drive from CPH to Svenstrupgaard. Along the way, i got to see the countryside of Denmark.

By the time we reached Svenstrupgaard, we were just in time for supper.... it was a really nice pie. After that we watched a Sensei video of Sensei being conferred with Honorary Doctorate award from the University of Southern Denmark. The Rector came and gave us a speech! I was really encouraged by this!

The next couple of days, we had study of the Gosho, small group dialogues, camp fire and divisional session. Hmmm... i must say that the contents of this training course is not so different from the usual SD kenshus i attend. Just that everything that's covered in this kenshu, SD will compress it to just 24hrs. It was a great course i must say. I got to know quite a number of Danish & non-danish members. At least I've got some friends, not close friends, but friends who are working for a common goal in life. =D

So much for now! the next entry will be pretty soon... coz i'll be writing on my day trip to Helsingnor, the town where Hamlet's castle is! Till then! =D
