Japan Trip Sept-Nov 2010: Heading home

I've survived in Japan for the 9 days here.... this had been a great trip! i mean there were a lot of 1st times for me during this trip... and a few of the places that we visited/explored were 1st times for me.

As mentioned in the entry before this, I'm not sure when will be the next time i visit Japan. Coz i've visited quite a number of the cities... more than any of my friends. hahaha.... and its pretty expensive to travel in Japan despite the fact that we've already try to control on the amount of money to be spent. I would say that these 9 days had been a wonderful break for me.... to get away from all the stress, work, events.... and i try not to check my mails so as not to know what is happening back in Singapore. Coz once i touch Singapore soil, its back to reality and my hectic schedule.... and indeed this is true... coz the next 2 wks or so i would be really occupied with lots of things.

anyway on our final day, we could not use our JR pass anymore... coz yesterday was the last day of use. today we had to purchase our train tickets. i googled for the train company that sells the cheapest train tickets. Coz we were going back to Umeda for awhile then we're coming back again to collect our bags and head to the airport. coz our plane will take off at 4.50pm. we'll only need to reach the airport around 3.15pm. so we went to umeda to do somemore really last minute shopping... we took the Nakai trains today. it cost us 150 円 for a 1 way trip to umeda and 890 円 from shin-imamiya to the airport. anyway my sister was helping her friends to get the stuffs. until every single penny was spent... she totally forgot about keeping money for the train ticket that we need to purchase for the ride from shin-imamiya to kansai airport.
i also got a bento set in umeda to bring it up the plane. coz budget airlines require u to pay for the meals and the meals can be pretty expensive and do not taste nice.

once we've gotten all our stuffs, we took the 2.17pm train to the airport. at the kansai train station we happen to see some pictures being exhibited. take a look at it and u'll agree with me that they look really nice.

Beautiful picture at the train station

but if u were to know what was being used to make them... u'll be even more awed and surprised. take a guess what was used to make the picture.....

its train tickets! Amazing isn't it???

Kansai airport is very unique... i would say its the world's 1st airport to be built in the middle of the sea.

and the engineers had to go through a lot of challenges to get this airport built. and they are still expanding the airport. i managed to snapped some photos of the airport when we took off.

Goodbye the land of the rising sun! Till we meet again! =D
